Sonic Beer Blog #25: Berkshire Brewing Company ApuckaLips Wow Pink Guava And Lime Sour

This sour from the Berkshire Brewing Company cuts right to the origin of that great thirst after tackling long avoided yard work or a long sweaty game of whiffle ball at the family cookout. Apuckalips Wow Pink Guava And Lime pours a light copper and smells of the titular lime and blackberry and a bit funky. Once this sour hits your taste buds the sour hits with more lime and the guava and pineapple on the finish. This one is CRISP! The finish is clean with a little tartness left over. But not too tart. It’s extremely refreshing and easily crushable if your parched.

The Sonic Pairing: Tom Petty’s second “solo” album(most of the Heartbreakers play on it), “Wildflowers” has a crispness that runs through it despite covering many different styles including blues, melodic Beatle-esque, Neil Young with a Carzy Horse stomp, and grandiose orchestral epics. With Super-Producer Rick Rubin at the controls each instrument, snare snap and string twang is crystal clear. It’s got a ton of heartbreak and a meal size serving of dealing with deceitful interlopers and beaten down idealists. All delivered with big choruses and bigger hooks that act as the sweetner to these hard luck stories.

All beers featured in the Sonic Beer Blog can be found at Wachusett Wine And Spirits in West Boylston and Worcester.
