Sonic Beer Blog #15: Milk Room Brewing Co. Red Buffalo

This Red Ale from Milk Room Brewing Co. is a full local beverage! Brewed in Rutland, MA with hops from 4-Star Hops in Northfield, MA makes it a total Masshole beer. A very fruity aroma hit my nostrils while pouring this amber liquid. I also caught some orange and spice. First sip brought on sweet malt and plum with a bitter slightly boozy finish that took me by surprise. It does come in at 7% ABV. So despite the high level of drinkability, take it slow. This is a solid good time beverage that has a lot more personality than most Red Ales, so enjoy each sip.

The Sonic Pairing: The KinksSleepwalker” is another of Ray Davies’ ruminations on living the Rock-n-Roll life on the road, the characters you encounter, and the shady suspects that work in the industry of music. It’s a “Careful what you wish for tale” with Davies expressing both love and hate for the world he’s inhabited for more than a decade at this point. Sometimes feeling trapped, sometimes amused by a career that has gone beyond his wildest dreams. So, while there is a sweetness to achieving his dream, sometimes there is a bitterness laying underneath. Much like this Red Ale. Enjoy one with your “Brother” or “Mr. Big Man” in your life. It’s good under a “Full Moon” while singing along to some “Juke Box Music”
