Joanna Connor Talks About Playing With Buddy Guy, Finding The Blues In Worcester

North High School Alumni Joanna Connor found the Blues in Worcester through her Mother’s record collection and seeing Buddy Guy at Clark University. She picked up the guitar at 7 and by 14 she was playing at local spots honing her craft. She eventually moved to the Blues mecca of Chicago and a few decades and several albums later has been called the “Queen Of The Slide Guitar”! She brings it back home to Mechanics Hall in Worcester Friday(August 28) with a full line up of Blues greats. She talks to Mike Hsu about the local Worcester spots she started out in, getting her first break from the legendary Lonnie Brooks and what Worcester Pizza spot she misses the most.
