Lance Hoppen From Orleans Talks About The Term “Yacht Rock” And Making Music For 54 Years

Orleans bassist Lance Hoppen has been with the band since he was 18 and is the last original member touring with them. Their hits, “Still The One” and “Dance With Me” are two of the most catchy “earworms” in the history of recorded music and they’re bringing them to Indian Ranch in Webster this Sunday(8/23) with other Yacht Rock legends, Pure Prairie League, Firefall and Atlanta Rhythm Section. Lance talks to Mike Hsu about starting out in Woodstock, NY, what he thinks of the term “Yacht Rock, and retiring from the road.
